Mouse Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), Lyophilisate for Solution for Injection (注射用鼠神经生长因子)

Composition

Active substance: mouse nerve growth factor (mNGF), isolated and purified from mouse submandibular glands (purity ≥ 98%).

Dosage form

Lyophilised powder for solution for injection; reconstituted with 2 ml of water for injection before use. Strength: 18 µg (9000 U) per vial.

Pharmacological action

A neurotrophic factor: supports the growth, differentiation, and repair of neurons and participates in the regeneration of nerve fibers.

Use in pediatric neurorehabilitation

In pediatric neurorehabilitation, nerve growth factor is used to support recovery of the nervous system — in psychomotor and speech developmental delay, cerebral palsy, and other neurological conditions — based on its neurotrophic action (support for the growth and repair of neurons). It is prescribed and administered only by decision of and under the supervision of the treating physician, who assesses the indications, benefits, and risks in each case.

Administration

The vial is reconstituted with water for injection and given by injection; in rehabilitation it is also administered by infiltration of biologically active points (acupoint injection, 穴位注射). The course is usually one injection per day for about 10 days; repeat courses and the regimen are determined by the physician.

Adverse reactions

• Commonly, pain at the injection site or in the limb on the injected side (usually requires no intervention).
• No serious hepatic, renal, or cardiac dysfunction was observed in clinical studies.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the components.
