About

Dr. Xue Zhensuo sees children with traumatic injuries of the central nervous system, paralysis of various origins, complications following infectious diseases, motor function impairments, genetically determined pathologies, as well as delays in motor, speech and psycho-speech development, sleep disorders and autism spectrum disorders.

He locates acupuncture points precisely and applies modern medical equipment and medication support to stimulate brain function. He uses physiotherapy techniques in the rehabilitation of children with sensory integration disorders.

The doctor's rehabilitation programs often include hippotherapy, manageable manual work and speech practice — activities that not only aid recovery but also strengthen patients' positive outlook on life.

Education and methods

He graduated from Jiaozuo Medical College (Henan Province) with a degree in rehabilitation therapy technology in July 1992. In 1995 he completed Shanxi Province's first training programme for lead rehabilitation technology specialists, and in 2016 the national rehabilitation training programme of the China Disabled Persons' Federation system. He took advanced training at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Hebei Medical University (Shijiazhuang), as well as in Shanghai, Jiamusi and Xi'an. He has mastered the Vojta physiotherapy method, the Bobath approach to restoring motor activity and the Ueda method (上田法).

A separate field, the one in which the doctor has the most experience, is motor and speech impairments caused by cerebral palsy, as well as in-toeing and out-toeing gait. His repertoire here includes nerve stimulation, nerve balancing and nerve dredging, acupoint injections, catgut embedding and orthopaedic insoles.

As a traditional Chinese medicine specialist, he applies Chinese bone-setting techniques. Manual therapy techniques help the doctor improve the condition of joints, overcome stiffness and expand patients' range of movement.

He commands a broad range of massage techniques: classical and cupping massage, gua sha scraping massage. He combines acupuncture with moxibustion to increase the effectiveness of the procedures.

In his work he uses biofeedback: it helps him read the patient's sensations more precisely and adjust the rehabilitation program on a sound basis.

Experience

From 1993 to 1999 he headed the rehabilitation department of the Shanxi hospital for the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. From 2008 to 2021 he was a visiting expert of the children's rehabilitation department at the Brain Disease Hospital of the Institute of Cranial Acupuncture (Yuncheng). Since 2021 he has headed an international children's rehabilitation department.

He is a member of the IX Medical Union of Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation Specialists and a leading consultant on rehabilitation and traditional Chinese medicine.

Since 2013 he has been invited to Russia and Ukraine eight times for exchange and study. By the doctor's own account, hundreds of people from other countries come to him every year.
