About

A speech therapist. Her main field is dysarthria in children with cerebral palsy, speech development delay and speech-communication disorders in autism spectrum disorder: rehabilitation sessions and drawing up an individual programme.

She has built her theoretical grounding and clinical experience in speech pathology, oral motor therapy (OMT), auditory-speech rehabilitation, applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and oral function intervention. She applies several approaches together — phonetic therapy, cognitive therapy, swallowing therapy — to improve speech clarity and fluency and to improve swallowing.

She draws up the programme together with the centre's team. Over the years she has helped many children cope with speech difficulties and communicate better; by her own account, she has worked with more than 10,000 families of children with special needs in total.

Professional areas: speech therapy; oral motor therapy (OMT); applied behaviour analysis (ABA); assessment of speech and communication development.

Methods and assessment

  • Assessment: she commands the international tools VB-MAPP, PEP-3 and ABLLS-R — a quantitative assessment of verbal behaviour, social communication and cognitive development as the basis for the goals of an individual programme.
  • Speech methods: ABA (applied behaviour analysis), DTT (discrete trial training), errorless teaching.
  • Natural environment teaching and social stories — to make a session livelier and easier for the child to take in.
  • Oral motor therapy (OMT) and oral function intervention; phonetic therapy, cognitive therapy, swallowing therapy.
  • She has also studied the Montessori method and the shadow teacher support strategy separately, and draws on them in rehabilitation work.
  • Alongside her speech work, as a clinical physician she performs acupoint injections and scalp acupuncture (脑针).

She keeps to a set of principles: assessment first, then an individual programme, family involvement and dynamic tracking of results. She looks not only at speech, but at the child's overall development and quality of life.

Experience and training

  • 2000–2008 — Hejin City Hospital.
  • 2008–2022 — international children's rehabilitation department, Brain Disease Hospital of the Institute of Cranial Acupuncture (Yuncheng).
  • Since 2023 — works in an international children's rehabilitation department.

She has been studying continuously since 2011. She has taken part in professional academic forums of the China Disabled Persons' Federation on cerebral palsy and autism. She has travelled for specialised training in speech and language, sensory integration and fine motor rehabilitation technologies to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi'an, Taiyuan, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Wuhan, as well as to Shandong and Hainan provinces.

She has completed specialised training and hands-on certification in the international assessment tools VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R. She has repeatedly taken part in academic exchanges and in training teaching staff in children's rehabilitation.
